Back to School Bash

Get ready for an afternoon packed with family fun at our Back to School Bash! Join us as we celebrate the end of summer and kick off the new school year with exciting activities, entertainment, and community spirit.
Admission is free, and guests can enjoy FREE popcorn and cotton candy while supplies last!
Kids of all ages will have a blast with:
• Inflatable slide
• Obstacle course
• Bounce house
• Carnival games
• A special playland designed just for younger children
Feeling adventurous? Take your turn at the dunk tank and see if you can make a splash!
A live DJ will keep the party going with great music throughout the day, while a variety of local food trucks will be on-site offering delicious food and beverages available for purchase.
Be sure to stop by and meet some of our amazing community partners! Kids will have the opportunity to explore emergency and service vehicles from the North Carolina Highway Patrol, Johnston County Sheriff's Office, and Princeton Fire Department while learning more about the important work they do. We'll also be joined by the Smithfield Tobs, along with special mascot appearances throughout the day for hugs, high-fives, and memorable photos.

Lace Up for the 17th Annual Feel the Burn 5K & 10K!
Get ready to hit the pavement for a great cause! Lace up your running shoes and join us on Saturday, October 10, 2026, for the Princeton Volunteer Fire Department’s 17th Annual Feel the Burn 5K & 10K. This special evening race is one of our fire department’s biggest fundraisers of the year, directly supporting the brave first responders who keep our community safe. Come for the run, stay for the cause, and let's feel the burn together!
Event Details & Schedule
Date & Time: Saturday, October 10, 2026 | Races begin at 6:00 PM (Evening Race)
Check-In: Registration and check-in open at 4:30 PM
Course Info: The 5K is a USATF-certified course; 10K runners will complete two loops of the 5K course.
Registration & Entry Fees
Early Registration (Now through Sept 30): $25 for 5K | $30 for 10K (Includes an official race shirt guaranteed if registered by Sept 30)
Late Registration (Oct 1 through Race Day): $30 for 5K | $35 for 10K (Shirt not guaranteed after Sept 30)
Awards & Recognition
Prizes will be awarded to 1st and 2nd place overall male and female finishers in both the 5K and 10K across all age groups:
